Chivalric Educative Potential in Commercial Computer Games
Summary
The thesis explores educative possibilities within commercial computer games for the translation of chivalric literature. The first chapter treats on the terms game and play to come to the definition of a good game. The second chapter provides a history of RPGs, their characteristics and educative qualities in computer games. The third chapter contains a case study on The Elder Scrolls IV; Oblivion and translation of Chrétien de Troyes' Yvain into a computer game by use of Oblivion's construction set.
