Climate Change and Water Management A study of perceptions and adaptation in the communities of Taucca and Umasbamba, Peru
Summary
In the mountain region of Peru, climate change is manifested through decreasing water availability and a number of climatic events that are gravely affecting rural livelihoods. This research has focused on two communities, Taucca and Umasbamba, to investigate the perceptions peasants have of a changing climate and learn about their adaptation practices. Due to the importance of water in agriculture and human development, this research has focused on the impact of institutional aid on water management to reduce climate vulnerability.
