Fisheries under Pressure; The Impact of Climate Change on Greenlandic Fishermen
Summary
Climate change has a profound impact on the vulnerable Arctic. Due to processes of globalisation, Greenland is in the midst of a profound societal transition, and climate change is a part of that.
This study discusses the socio-economic impacts of climate change for Greenlandic fishermen using Giddens’ theory of agency and structure. Furthermore, this thesis also bridges the existing gap between scientific literature on climate change and local Greenlandic reality.
