This thesis deals with the subject of education and social transformation in Northern Ireland, a divided society. Northern Ireland has long been characterised by violent conflict, repercussions of which are still present to date. In this context a more inclusive future is pursued through educational programmes. What understanding of conflict and reconciliation are and should they be embedded in?
