        Summary
When we talk about human inspiration and learning, museums play an important role in our society. This interesting combination of entertainment and education is known as Edutainment. Previously this theory was used for marketing purposes, however in this research it is questioned what Edutainment means for educational institutes. The current study endeavours creating a clear framework for effective Edutainment. While trying to identify specific requirements for effective Edutainment the current study includes technical aspects as well. With a mixed-method approach, in which data were derived from interviews (n = 11) and surveys (n = 35) - conducted from museum administrators, pupils from group 7 and 8, as well as their teachers - the research acquires qualitative and quantitative data. In order to influence students’ behaviours, Edutainment should critically look at the four aspects, namely: entertainment, motivation, deep learning and multi-media. All aspects can be influenced by realizing specific requirements. These requirements are thoroughly examined and explained by the current research. With a new design for a framework concerning effective Edutainment, educators in museums and other educational institutions are encouraged to apply a new and effective way of teaching.
