Food for thought; The practice of knowledge making in Dutch agriculture in the late nineteenth - early twentieth century, shifting dynamics and Joost Hudig as a figure at the intersection.
Summary
Dutch agriculture underwent great changes at the turn of the twentieth century. These shifts were formed not only by socio-economic circumstances but also by Dutch scientists, farmers, statesmen who all had their own views on how agriculture should be developed. Through our protagonist, Joost Hudig (1880-1967), we get a glimpse of how these dynamics evolved and how the meaning of knowledge changed over time in the agricultural sector.
