        With the prevalence of toxicity becoming a growing issue in online video games, developers have implemented systems to combat this, with much of the focus being on moderation in the past. Nowadays, developers have started to restrict communication or offer alternative communication options to free communication channels, like text chat and voice chat, so players do not feel pressured to use these channels and toxicity is perceived less frequently.
