Translating South Park: exploring the challenges of audiovisual translation by creating two episodes of South Park

Abstract

In the Netherlands, subtitles are a part of daily life. This thesis explores the problems and challenges audiovisual translators face while creating these subtitles.In doing so, subtitles for two episodes of the animated comedy show South Park are produced.
