Abstract

This thesis examines the history of audio-visual translation, particularly subtitling, along with its process and developments. The focus will be on the specific difficulties and challenges that the making of subtitles provides. Additionally, the rules and regulations used for the translation will be addressed. Subsequently, the annotated subtitles that have been created for one episode of the series The Following will be given.
