Summary
This paper discusses the translation of George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four and especially focuses on the translation difficulties pertinent to Newspeak and the political elements. It also includes a comparison between the self-made translation and the one made by Tinke Davids. The appendix contains a translation of three parts taken from Nineteen Eighty-Four.
