A research towards completing the asset information life cycle - An analysis of the relationships between data exchange, BIM and the asset life cycle and the solutions to overcome existing issues at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
Summary
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an actual topic in the building industry and involves the full life cycle of an asset. The information that belongs to that asset changes during the life cycle and is used in different models and software. Therefor it is necessary to exchange data between different life cycle phases. This exchange of data involves a variety of characteristics and parameters that should be taken into account. Within this research a first attempt is made to reuse asset information throughout the life cycle with a minimal loss of information and suggestions are proposed for more structual solutions.
