On gamma-deformations of type 2B superstring backgrounds.
Summary
We consider type 2B superstring consistent backgrounds with U(1)^d global isometry. The moduli-generating group for such backgrounds is SO(d,d,R). We focus on the subgroup whose elements correspond to the gamma-deformations introduced by O. Lunin and J. Maldacena. From the point of view of supergravity, these deformations can be used as a classical solution generating technique. The action of SO(d,d,R) on the NS-NS and R-R bosonic fields of type 2B supergravity is presented. In this framework, we obtain the gamma-deformed AdS_5xS^5 solution, known as the Lunin-Maldacena solution, and show subsequently that it satisfies the equations of motion derived from a type 2B supergravity covariant action. Finally, we consider several gamma-deformations of a 1/4-supersymmetric AdS_2xS^2xT^6 type 2B solution. We present these new solutions and determine their amount of unbroken supersymmetries.
