The Influence of Higher Education on Decolonization Protests - A Survey of Sub-Saharan Africa, 1950-1960
Summary
This thesis is a survey on the possible correlation between higher education and protests on the road towards independence in Sub-Saharan Africa. In this thesis a statistical overview is given concerning secondary education in the region in the decade 1950-1960. Two countries are examined more in depth in a case study to test the hypothesis. Uganda,a country wihich had one of the best educational systems by that time, is compared with Malawi, one of the lowest educated countries in the region.
