        Summary
Disabled people form the largest minority group in the world. In particular disabled children are vulnerable as they cannot stand up for themselves yet, in case their rights have been harmed. Unfortunately, many disabled children are not sent to school or taken out by their parents. Several issues, such as distance, income and caste are expected to be causal factors. Yet, limited literature can be found in which research is focused on the relation of access and school attendance of disabled children. Hence, this research examines the opportunities and barriers to access basic education for blind, deaf and intellectually disabled children in Baglung district, Nepal.
