The boundaries of politics
Summary
The paper entails a comparative analysis of Chantal Mouffe's conception of the democratic paradox and Gilles Deleuze's concept of becoming-democratic. It starts with an analysis of their respective political ontologies and turns to a more specific discussion of their stances on democracy/democratic politics. In the conclusion is argued for applying Deleuzian thought on Mouffe's conception of politics in order to open up democracy to outside criticism.
