        Summary
This thesis concentrates on the current popular scientific glass ceiling debate in the Netherlands. And starts out with a discourse analysis of the current debate by researching three Dutch popular scientific books, namely Roos Wouters’ Fuck, I am a Feminist, Heleen Mees’ Down with Part-Time Feminism, and Marike Stellinga’s The Myth of the glass Ceiling. After establishing that the current debate lacks a male view, a chapter of the role of masculinity studies within feminism shows the importance of applying the male view within feminist research. Nine male, Dutch CEO’s and Directors are interviewed and these interviews are used in a second discourse analysis of the male view of the glass ceiling debate. Their insights are used to formulate a new way of thinking and debating the glass ceiling discussion in the Netherlands. By getting it out the (female) feminist dichotomy that is currently ruling in the Netherlands.
