dc.description.abstract | We investigate the comparability of rotating four dimensional and five dimensionalblack holes in asymptotically flat vacuum spacetime. First a concise introduction tothe theory of general relativity and a description of the four dimensional Schwarzschildand Kerr black holes are given. Then these black hole solutions are generalised tohigher dimensions, focusing on the five dimensional Myers-Perry black hole and blackring. Lastly Kaluza-Klein theory on the reduction of dimensionality is shortly discussed. | |
