Abstract

This thesis entails a close analysis of the source text My Most Excellent Year, a Young Adult novel by Steve Kluger. The cultural specific items that are discussed in detail are baseball, names of American actresses and singers from the 1920s-1960s (one of the main characters uses them quite often and this is an important element of his homosexuality), and lines and lyrics from American movies/plays and songs.
