Social life and pre-primary education in rural Guatemala: a comprehensive study to determinants of social capital and the impact of pre-primary education on student's performance.
Summary
On the one hand, this study examines the role of educational attainment in the formation of people's social capital in rural Guatemalan communities. Instead of educational attainment, other socio-demographic determinants, such as language, religion and age, appear to have a more profound influence on people's social relationships.
On the other hand, the impact of pre-primary education on school results of children in primary school have been measured. Due to several limitations and constraints, attendance of preschool programs doesn't make a significant difference in student's school performance.
