Bridging Reality and Memory: A Study of Map-Based visualizations in VR Lifelogging Systems
Summary
Lifelog systems capture personal data such as images, location, and biometric signals, offering users a way to revisit and reflect on past experiences. With the integration of Virtual Reality (VR), these systems allow users to explore lifelog data in an immersive 3D environment. Previous work showed great potential for the exploration of lifelog data when
presented in immersive 3D environments in VR. However, little research has examined how different map-view perspectives influences the user experience.
This study investigates the impact of different map-view perspectives within a 3D map environment on user immersion, memory recall, and satisfaction in Virtual Reality-based lifelog applications.
