dc.subject | In this thesis I have researched the hypothesis wether the Albigensian Crusade, which is often seen as een religious war, should be better perceived as a Culture War. After looking at the sources I have determined that many of the things commonly attributed to the Cathar heresy, should be attributed to the distinct Southern French culture that existed in the Languedoc region. The Albigensian Crusade was not meant to purge the South of heresy, but of these cultural expressions. | |
