        Summary
Due to climate change, Utrecht is suffering from more frequent heat waves and extreme rainfall events. Both heat and extreme rainfall could be mitigated by implementing more vegetation in the city. However, not enough space is available to counteract the consequences of climate change by planting trees only. This thesis discusses to what extent other ecological features, like green roofs and vertical forests, can contribute to this climate adaptation in the city of Utrecht.
