        Summary
The roots of the supply chain refer to the process of obtaining a license to operate by multinational companies (MNC). This process is inevitable and important for a corporation’s operation, because without this process a supply chain cannot exist. This thesis will reflect on this process in one particular context, being the context where a MNC applies for a license to operate on land of indigenous peoples.
