Particle production mechanisms in pp collisions at 13TeV
Summary
Results on the production of identified π , η, η' , π ± , K ± , D ± , ω and proton-positron hadrons in soft proton proton collisions at 13TeV as a function of multiplicity, multi parton interactions and transverse momentum triggers. Also a selection is made on different production areas in pp collisions relative to the outgoing particle with the highest p T > 10GeV /c . In events where a p T trigger was applied of 13GeV /c, in the 4 − 6GeV /c p T spectrum a 57% drop of the D ± /π ± ratio was observed. While selecting on multiplicity or NMPI there was no significant difference found. There is also observed that a selection on particles in cones around a jet has only a strong effect if selecting the frontwards-cone, and no significant effect if selecting the backwards-cone. This is an important conclusion for jet analyses.
