        Summary
The analysis of sexual references and elements in Bram Stoker’s Dracula has resulted in a commonly found literary consensus that attributes a misogynistic character to the novel. This thesis will explore the sexual narrative and feministic elements that can be found by analysing key scenes and characters through a close-reading of the novel. It will give an overview of misogynistic elements argued by literary critics and literary theories substantiating contrasting perspectives. By researching the literary context, its time of publishing and events surrounding its author, a progressive narrative will be found throughout the novel, arguing a more feministic and sexually liberated view on society.
