Designing a domain-specific language for infographics
Summary
Infographics are used for a long time already and their usage has grown more with the rise of social media. Infographics are also produced as the result of a social and environmental accounting. Within the process of creating infographics in the context of social and environmental accounting several pain points are identified. A domain-specific language is designed and engineered to improve the process by tackling the identified pain points. An interpreter of the domain-specific language is implemented in the OpenESEA tool. We validate our proposed domain-specific language by conducting a comparative experiment between original infographics and infographics generated by the OpenESEA tool. In addition, the domain-specific language will be validated by means of an expert assessment.
