        Summary
Research: This research will investigate whether the gender of toddlers and the educational level of their parents can predict early numeracy. Early numeracy consists of the counting skills and Piagetan skills of the toddlers. Furthermore, educational level of parents is split in maternal and paternal educational level. Sample: 501 toddlers participated in this research, with a mean age of five years and seven months. The sample included 245 boys and 265 girls. Results: Results show there is no significant effect of gender or paternal educational level on early numeracy. However it did show a significant effect of maternal educational level on early numeracy. In spite of gender and paternal educational level not having a significant effect, all three factors investigated do predict early numeracy when taken all together.
