Abstract

An investigation into the Old English herbals and the use of herbs in these manuscripts. This thesis makes a comparative inquiry into the difference of herbal use in the 10th century and modern times through making an in-depth comparison of six plants. The thesis is based on Bald’s Leechbook I.
