Judith and Anglo-Saxon England: Christianization and the Warrior Tradition

Abstract

The thesis discusses the manner in which the Old Testament story of Judith was adapted for a Christian Anglo-Saxon audience steeped in the Germanic warrior tradition in the Old English poem Judith.
