        Summary
This study investigates the question if there is a difference between the process participation of Dutch Antillean criminal youth suspects and there parents compared to Dutch criminal youth and there parents. Literature shows that the most salient causes to explain delinquency among Antillean youth is to be found in the lack of control and the participation in the criminal peer group. Studies investigating the experience and behaviors in the Dutch youth are very limited for this ethnicity. The youth sentence meetings will be observed en scored in the courts of Utrecht, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Following to the youth sentence hearing, a questionnaire will be used in order to obtain information about the perception of the both suspects group and their parents. Results of this study indicate that the process participation of Antillean youth suspects and there parents did not differ significantly compared with Dutch youth suspects and there parents.
