dc.description.abstract | This thesis examines the issues that arose while translating the website of an IT service provider, Lemontree Outsourcing, from Dutch into English. The source text is characterized by a specific textual medium (the Internet), a specific textual function (operative/persuasive), and a specific genre (technical texts). These three topics are explored in detail in the first half of the thesis. The second half consists of a translation-focused analysis of the source text, followed by an annotated translation and concluding remarks. | |
