        Summary
Aim: This study aims to examine the possible influence of work and education on desistance from crime in young adults. Data are collected through in-depth interviews with nine ex-offenders between 19 and 36 years old. Results: The results show that seven out of the nine youngsters played truant during their period in high school. For one respondent, having a job had a positive influence on his decision to stop his criminal career. For three out of the nine respondents, having a job and / or education had a positive influence on being able to persist in ceasing their criminal activities. Conclusion: In this group of respondents, work has not been a critical factor in their desistance from crime.
