        Summary
The thesis gives a brief overview of the matter of race in the novel Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie. Adichie writes with a humorous style yet confronting the reader with the inequality of black people in the United States and England. She gives insight in different perspectives and thus it is an interesting novel to gain awareness of inequality between all different kind of people. Together with her TED talk 'The danger of a single story' the thesis connects the plurality of voices in the novel with the danger of the single stories. Different discourses and power relations will be discussed while at the end the main question: How does the novel Americanah contribute to the discussion on race in our current society?
