        Summary
The present study has examined the influence of somatic comorbidity and traumatic load on the severity of PTSD symptoms and treatment outcome. A sample of 126 refugees (mean age 41,13) in the Netherlands, receiving treatment at Centrum ’45, were studied by the Harvard Trauma Questionnaire (HTQ). Further information about traumatic load and somatic comorbidity was searched for in the treatment files of the participants. Traumatic load was associated with the severity of symptoms before treatment, severity of symptoms was associated with treatment outcome. There was no association found between somatic comorbidity and treatment outcome.
