Marx, Mill and Mintzberg - Alienation and Development of Individuality in Modern Corporate Structures
Summary
An evaluation of modern corporate structures. To what extent and in which ways do contemporary organizations avoid employees (and employing individuals) to avoid alienation (as conceptualized by Marx) and develop their individuality (as conceptualized by Mill). Mintzberg's machine organization and diversified organization lack attention to these ideals. They strive for efficiency and consistency of their product instead. Other organizations show attention to these ideals in different ways and degrees.
