        Summary
With the Treaty of Lisbon, the EU has entered a new era in which it has attempted to become a more effective and influential actor on the world stage. In trying to defend and secure its core values and principles like the promotion of democratic government and respect for human rights, the Lisbon Treaty has altered the EU institutions concerning the implementation of its foreign policy. This thesis will attempt to show how these changes may have increased the potential of EUFP in the case of state-building activities in Palestine, but these Lisbon Treaty mutations have not been fully used yet.
