From Sister to Grandfathers. A componential analysis of the kinship system of English, Fanti and Russian
Summary
The aim of this thesis is to explore the variety of kinship terms of the languages English, Russian and Fanti. Which relationships are designated by which terms and what are the differences between the systems of various languages? A componential analysis of the systems of the three languages is given and a theory by Kroeber about principles of relationship is used to compare the systems.
