        Summary
Within the field of technological progress much has already been written on the subject of the morality and politics of technology. Popular subjects are religion and technology, the influence of technology on societal development or the ways in which technology influences the creation and uses of literature . However, almost nothing has been written on the change in the way that humankind interacts with technology in 20th century literature. In this paper, that relationship will be discussed. More precisely, this paper will focus on the way in which humankind and technology interact in two novels: Brave New World (1932) by Aldous Huxley and Neuromancer (1984) by William Gibson.
