DNA tests for inherited diseases; which are reliable?
Summary
Inherited diseases in purebred dogs are a well-known problem to dog breeders and veterinarians. Because there are so many DNA tests offered internationally
this project tries to examine which of the DNA tests are useful and which are not. The goal is to compose a list of all these tests to help the breeders and
veterinarians make a well-considered decision on which test to use. This is realized through a set of criteria to qualify the DNA tests which is also
established in this project. In the end it shows that not all offered DNA tests are useful for the disease or breed it claims is useful for.
