        Summary
In early adolescence there’s an increase in substance use and delinquency. This study examined the effect of spatial integration of identity, the context-specific identity leisure time and peer pressure on substance use and delinquency. Participants (563 adolescents) completed questionnaires about these topics. Using multiple regression analysis we examined if there was an effect. Results showed that spatial integration of identity, the context-specific identity leisure time and peer pressure have a significant, but small effect on substance use and delinquency. The conclusion is that peer pressure has the largest effect on substance use and delinquency. An unexpected result is that the context-specific identity leisure time has a positive linear relationship with substance use and delinquency. Further research is there for needed.
