Rentokil Initial in the Netherlands is commonly known as the Number one in pest prevention and pest control. But also the services of Initial Hokatex (cleaning and washroom services) are widely used and know in the Netherlands. This and much more, makes Rentokil Initial Plc market leader in services to enterprises and institutions. Rentokil Initial and Initial Hokatex are the biggest divisions of Rentokil initial Plc, these divisions in the Netherlands both have their individual services and processes. Both divisions constantly need to report to the headquarter (Governance) in the UK. These divisions have their own IT infrastructure, IT departments and IT managers. This makes reporting to the UK not efficient. For this reason Rentokil Initial wants to integrate the IT departments and the underlying IT infrastructures of these two divisions. To eliminate internal dependencies of the two divisions, Rentokil Initial wants an independent view on the situation. Since there is a lack of expertise with internal merges, Rentokil Initial wants to research the following things: • How do other companies address the same situation; • What are the (already existing) strategies to solve this situation; • What should be done to merge these divisions as efficiently and effectively as possible; • Which processes should and could be changed or merged; • Build a strategy or method for this situation. For this reason the aim of this project is to simplify the post-merger IT integration process, by developing a post-merger IT integration method. With the completion of this research, organizations willing to integrate their IT with that of their merging partner or are willing to integrate their internal IT divisions will have an action plan in the form of a method.
