American support to Pol Pot: a quest for American security?
Summary
During Cold War the United States supported the cruel regime of Pol Pot in Cambodia, after the communist Vietnamese invaded Cambodia and overthrew the reign of Pol Pot. Within the International Relations it is argued by realists that the United States acted during Cold War according to the principle of security. In this thesis it is researched whether or not the United States supported the regime of Pol Pot in order to strive for American security.
