        Summary
This report looks into the impact an event can have on framing of big public projects. In this case study the Zembla episode ‘CO2 bom onder Barendrecht’ is seen as event which’s influence on framing of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) in the media is analysed. Theory used in this article is based on framing theory. The frames are constructed from findings from prior research on CCS and public acceptance. The frames where translated into a coding scheme which was used in the analyses of newspaper articles from ANP (the Dutch national press agency). The analyses shows that there is a change in framing by the media after the airing of the Zembla episode. In the situation before the episode there was consensus on the safety of the CCS on the basis of scientific proof, after the episode this scientific proof was questioned. Opposition against CCS rose, ultimately leading to the project being cancelled.
