        Summary
In the contemporary society digital media are omnipresent. It comes as no surprise that something so much a part of our everyday lives influences that ways in which we perceive and process information. By examing qualities of textual digital media for a neurological cultural perspective, this thesis concerns itself with translating the qualities of textual digital media to performance analysis to examine the ways in which performance dramaturgy can resemble these qualities of digital media. With knowledge about the cognitive effects of textual digital media so present in our lives, this thesis attempts to create an awareness of the way contemporary and future audiences approach performance and examines the ways a performance dramaturgy can comply, disavow or challenge the manner of perceiving and processing information induced by textual digital media.
