dc.description.abstractAfter a brief introduction to renormalization group theory and the Zamolodchikov C theorem, based on the large amount of literature already available on these subjects, the Zamolodchikov C function is calculated for a quantum field theory in two dimensions, consisting of one massive scalar field and weak four-interactions, up to linear order in the coupling constant.
