dc.description.abstractIn this thesis both mathematical and physical aspects of orbifold conformal field theory are described. We present a set-up to do a one-loop self-energy computation in the $S_N \R^D$ orbifold sigma model. Furthermore, we develop a mathematical framework to deal with computations in orbifold conformal field theories.
