        Summary
The aim of this study was to get more insight in the parental involvement in the Dutch primary school health program IK Lekker fit!? and to investigate if the parents were influenced in a way by the program. In order to reach this aim a qualitative analysis of determinants was completed. After an online questionnaire, schools were selected for interviews. Six parents, two headmasters and two teachers were interviewed in-depth. The results showed that the parents were influenced through the children by the program. Also the health activities on the schools were not enough integrated with IK Lekker fit!?, what explained why the parents were not aware of all the activities around the program. The teachers found it especially hard to get immigrant parents involved in the program. It was recommended that school needs to get the children excited about IK Lekker fit!? so they will tell their parents about it. It was also important to develop more activities for the children and parents together and to make adaptations to lower the barriers for immigrant parents.
