Cultural Memory in Doris Lessing’s Fiction: An analysis of The Grass is Singing, Alfred and Emily and Martha Quest in light of cultural memory studies

Abstract

In light of cultural memory studies, three novels bij Doris Lessing are discussed. "The Grass is Singing", "Alfred and Emily" and "Martha Quest". The theory of cultural memory is explained, as well as the history of Zimbabwe (or South Rhodesia).
