dc.description.abstractThe aim of this research is to gain insight into the internationalization process of R&D. Besides that, this research explains the attractiveness on foreign direct investments in R&D for the Dutch regions using econometric models. Based on a unique dataset of 2.641 R&D location choices, this research analyses what the most important location factors are for R&D locations of multinational enterprises. Furthermore the research analyses to what extent the most important location factors are present in the Dutch regions. Lastly, some policy recommendations are given that can help improve the attractiveness of the Dutch regions and the Netherlands as a whole.
