In this master thesis route choice behaviour of domestic tourists within Amsterdam's inner city is investigated. A particular interest is given to the role of familiarity or unfamiliarity with the environment. Seven types of tourist familiarity are distinguished to provide a more detailed insight in the role familiarity plays in tourism.
